Role and Impact

As a Data Engineer at Microsoft, your responsibilities will include:

• Creating and maintaining efficient Big Data pipelines for Analytics and Machine Learning systems.
• Optimizing the performance of Big Data scripts and queries.
• Developing monitoring and reporting infrastructures to support data-driven decision making.
• Enhancing systems that support Data Science activities such as analytics and feature extraction.

This role provides a unique opportunity to power AI and Data Analytics initiatives that are integral to our advanced global security product, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Your work will directly contribute to disrupting sophisticated cyber-attacks and enhancing enterprise security.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least two years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Strong skills in logical reasoning, problem-solving, and debugging.
• Experience with cloud-based systems and a keen interest in Data Science and Cyber Security.
• Proficiency in developing software for Big Data environments and a collaborative spirit complemented by excellent communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with:

• Big Data systems such as Azure, Cosmos DB, and Spark.
• Scripting languages like Python and SQL.
• Machine Learning, Data Pipelines, Reporting Technologies, and Cyber Security.
