The Opportunity: Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Demyst, you'll power the latest technology at leading financial institutions worldwide. Whether solving fintech fraud challenges or enhancing marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 insurers, you will utilize innovative data sets and Demyst's advanced software architecture to build best-in-class solutions. You'll manage projects from inception to completion, assisting at every stage from testing to integration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal project managers, sales directors, account managers, and client stakeholders to identify requirements and build external data-driven solutions.
  • Perform data appends, extracts, and analyses to deliver curated datasets and insights that support client business objectives.
  • Stay current with external data landscapes, including consumer, business, and property data.
  • Engage in entity detection, record linking, and data modeling projects.
  • Design scalable code blocks using Demyst’s APIs/SDKs for production projects.
  • Oversee release governance, change management, and maintenance of production solutions in coordination with clients' IT teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience); Master's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Python programming experience, particularly with Pandas.
  • Proficiency with file formats like CSV, JSON, and Parquet.
  • Experience in data cleaning and structuring (ETL).
  • Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, HTTP protocols, API security, and best practices.
  • Experience with SQL, Git, and Airflow.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
