About the Role We’re looking for a top-notch Data Engineer to join the team in charge of Kora’s data infrastructure and AI strategy. The goal is to enhance and automate processes, identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, foster a data-driven culture, and develop and construct AI products. As a member of the AI and Data team at Kora, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to grasp current processes, identify problem-solving opportunities, develop custom tools, algorithms, models, optimize deployment workflows, and engineer data-driven solutions to business issues. The role requires exceptional problem-solving skills, a knack for data management (including big data), ability to derive valuable insights, coding expertise to automate the extraction of insights, predictive capabilities, and decision-making skills. What You’ll be Doing As a technology and data-driven organization, we empower our teams to take initiative, identify areas that need improvement, and solve problems in a sustainable way. Key responsibilities include: - Understanding Kora’s objectives and developing measurable and trackable data models. - Collaborating with other teams to extract value from Kora’s data and establish a data infrastructure. - Identifying valuable data sources, automating data collection processes, developing new systems and processes, improving data flow. - Coordinating data acquisition, verifying data quality, and finding available datasets. - Creating automated anomaly detection systems and consistently tracking their performance. - Evaluating business needs and objectives to build data systems and pipelines. - Combining raw data from required sources, analyzing and organizing them, interpreting trends and patterns. - Conducting complex data analysis and reporting on results. - Preparing data for prescriptive and predictive modeling. - Building analytical tools, programs, algorithms, and prototypes. - Enhancing data quality and reliability. - Documenting data processes. - Engineering accurate data for data-driven operations. - Turning structured and unstructured data into useful information, tools, and insights. - Presenting information using data visualization techniques. - Staying informed on developments in data engineering and researching best practices. Requirements What You’ll Need Eligibility for the role demands: - 3+ years of experience in developing custom solutions to optimize deployment workflows and solve business problems. - A diverse portfolio featuring live products. - Creative thinking and a drive to introduce innovative changes. - Passion for delivering an excellent user and customer experience. - Eagerness to learn from teams, operations, and product users. - Data-driven approach and leadership skills in data management. - Self-directed and driven with a collaborative mindset. - Efficient use of tools and software, including Tableau, Python, NumPy, Jupiter, MySQL, and modeling tools. - Excellent data analysis and pattern recognition skills. - Attention to detail and positive energy. - Effective workload management skills. Additionailly desirable: - Experience in data science and data analysis. - A Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. - A portfolio illustrating problem-solving experiences with data engineering and data science.
