Job Opening: Software Data Engineer

We are expanding to meet critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector and are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Data Engineer. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to effectively handle data from various sources.
  • Optimize and fine-tune data pipelines for maximum performance and scalability.
  • Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain data integration tools to provide seamless data access for stakeholders.
  • Work on integrations with external services like Jira, Splunk, Oracle, MES, ERP, and other third-party systems.
  • Lead the design and development of data engineering frameworks tailored to internal processes and client needs.
  • Follow best practices in software development to ensure high-quality code, efficient testing, and timely releases.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure availability of data for various analyses.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in data engineering and software development, incorporating new technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computational Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and data engineering.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, ETL, and data pipeline development.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric) and data lakehouse architectures.
  • Solid understanding of data integration and transformation techniques.
  • Experience with integrations involving services like Jira, Splunk, Oracle, MES, ERP, and web applications.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with data protection standards and regulations.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams, including business analysis, product management, engineering, and customer success.
