Your Responsibilities

  • Actively shape your position by bringing in new ideas and getting involved.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable clickstream data pipelines using AWS services like Kinesis Data Streams, Delivery Firehose, Lambda functions, and S3 buckets.
  • Implement data transformations and processing logic using PySpark for efficient data handling and analysis.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources into our DataLakehouse on DataBricks.
  • Utilize Python and SQL for data manipulation, querying, and validation tasks.
  • Monitor data pipeline performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technologies in data engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data manipulation and processing.
  • Hands-on experience with DataBricks and AWS services (e.g., S3, Kinesis, Lambda) or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL processes, and orchestrating ETL workflows.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, with a focus on the DataVault model preferred.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data integration and data quality best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent English in both verbal and written communication.

Note: This is not a remote-only position. We offer a flexible hybrid model in Hamburg, Germany—work from home on Mondays and Fridays, with office attendance required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
