Data Engineer Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable Data Engineers with a diverse skill set to join our cutting-edge tech environment. Collaborate with like-minded professionals and embrace the latest tools, techniques, and technologies. Fuel your professional growth within our agile development ecosystem.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Designing and developing robust data pipelines to power our analytics, machine learning, and product features
• Building and improving Dataflows (ETL, Daemon, workers, etc.) and Datastorage
• Creating tools and automation capabilities for data pipelines to make data integration more reliable and scalable
• Extending our Data Warehouse and Data Lake to enable data-driven decisions
• Building a data-platform to democratize data, creating a single source of truth accessible to everyone at Sidetrade
• Ensuring unit tests and code analysis (sonar) are green with sufficient coverage
• Supporting the implementation of secure design principles according to Information Security policies and standards

Key Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree in a related field preferred
• 3-5 years’ experience in Data Engineering
• Excellent knowledge of SQL, Python, Tableau, Talend, ElasticSearch, Kafka, GreenPlum, and DBT
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling
• Mastery of data mining technologies and Rest APIs
• Experience developing and supporting reliable data pipelines
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps frameworks
• Sound knowledge of data architecture, scalability, and security/compliance
• Native-level proficiency in French and fluency in English
