Overview:

At Chyron, we are excited to announce opportunities for both a Senior Data Engineer and a Junior/Mid Data Engineer to enhance our product development teams. With a focus driven by customer expectations of reliability, effectiveness, and robustness, our Data Engineers play a crucial role in building clean, efficient, and reliable codes to support our dynamic needs. You will be involved in developing Python modules to extract, transform, and load data, ensuring code readability and high testing coverage while solving real-world problems.

What We Are Looking For:

Must Haves:

• Proven experience in system and software engineering for Senior roles, or strong educational background or interest for Junior roles.
• For Senior Engineers: Ability to design secure and highly-available code.
• Strong understanding of data flow analysis and migration from legacy systems.
• Excellent scripting skills in Python; knowledge of PowerShell, C#, Perl, or other programming languages is advantageous.
• For Senior Engineers: Experience with industrial standard processes and ability to perform root-cause analysis.
• For Junior Engineers: Basic understanding of processes and a proactive problem-solving attitude.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in the development industry.
• Familiarity with cloud systems and designing troubleshooting procedures.
• Adherence to a post-mortem culture to constantly learn and improve.
• Experience with large-scale or distributed systems and SOA.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Agility to keep pace in a fast-evolving environment, adopting changes swiftly.

Not to Haves:

• Non-systematic approach, reluctance to adhere to set processes and documentations.
• "It works for me" mindset or short-term fix attitude.
• Preference for manual, repetitive tasks over automation.
• Approach that introduces technical debts rather than delivering well-controlled technology solutions.
