Position Title: Data Engineer II
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Position Responsibilities:
Join our dynamic team as a Data Engineer II at Amazon.com Services LLC. You will:
- Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for business intelligence analytics.
- Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, SQL, and OLAP technologies.
- Provide online reporting and analysis using OBIEE business intelligence tools and a logical abstraction layer against large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources.
- Gather business and functional requirements, translating them into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture.
- Analyze source data systems and promote best practices among source teams.
- Participate in the full development life cycle from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery, support, and maintenance.
- Produce comprehensive, usable dataset documentation and metadata.
- Evaluate and make decisions regarding dataset implementations designed and proposed by peer data engineers.
- Assess the use of new or existing software products and tools.
- Mentor junior data engineers.
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8:00am-5:00pm
Salary Range: $125,500/year to $169,800/year

Basic Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Three years of experience as a Data Engineer or a related occupation.
- Three years of experience in the following skills:
- Developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes, OLAP technologies, and SQL.
- Experience with Python or Java.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development life cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, and testing.
- Experience with large databases, BI applications, data quality, and performance tuning.
Partial telecommuting is permitted; employees are required to report to the office multiple days per week.
