So come join us! About The Role: We're in pursuit of a highly motivated Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our CDO Data Engineering Team. As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer, you'll be part of an exciting team undertaking data engineering projects while concentrating primarily on large-scale data processing and analytics. What You’ll Do In This Role: Your role will involve collaboration with the CDO Data Engineering Team to design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications and data pipelines for processing and analyzing large volumes of data using GCP services. You will assist in implementing data ingestion, storage, transformation, and retrieval processes to ensure efficient and reliable data flow within our data ecosystem. You will write clean, efficient, well-documented code in programming languages such as Python or Java, following software engineering best practices and coding standards. You will also work closely with data scientists and engineers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, assuring the stability and reliability of our data infrastructure, will be key. Essential will be staying updated with the latest developments in data engineering, programming languages, and cloud platforms that can help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our solutions. You will also document technical specifications, processes, and procedures to enhance knowledge sharing and maintainable codebases. What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role: Your strong programming skills, including proficiency in a language such as Python, will be essential. You will need proficiency with one of the major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), focusing on GCP, and the ability to use cloud services for data processing and deployment. Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services, including Composer for workflow management, BigQuery for data analytics, Pub/Sub for data streaming, and Dataflow for data processing is also crucial, as is experience with data engineering concepts and technologies. Knowledge of database systems and query languages (SQL, NoSQL) will be necessary, as will a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively. A passion for data-driven insights and problem-solving using data engineering technologies, with a particular focus on GCP services, will be valuable. In addition, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, close attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality results are key.
