Job Description

As a Data Engineer Lead, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data capabilities through data platforms and products. This includes taking a lead role in the end-to-end data pipeline, covering data acquisition and storage to transformation and analysis. Expert knowledge in modeling, prompt engineering, and data specialization techniques is required.

The Data Engineer Lead will:

• Understand the data requirements of products and translate these into efficient, reliable data engineering solutions.
• Work closely with data architecture teams to ensure compliance with data governance standards and implement innovative solutions to optimize data processing and storage.
• Identify and implement best practices for data engineering, maintain data quality and integrity, and troubleshoot issues or bottlenecks.
• Develop and implement portfolio data modeling, assurance, and utilization strategies aligned with enterprise governance and technology strategies.
• Serve as a thought leader in the data domain, identifying trends, and supporting the development of relevant BI and MI solutions.
• Design and develop data models using dimensional and data vault techniques to meet business requirements.
• Architect, train, validate, and test advanced analytics/machine learning models using enterprise-grade software engineering practices.
• Maintain automated, scalable data pipelines for ETL processing, and monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues.

Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying data statuses, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Understand the ethical considerations in data engineering, including data privacy, security, and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on leadership and project management.
• Technical experience with data warehousing – definition, implementation, and integration.
• Strong programming skills in Python and DBA skills (SQL/PSQL/DynamoDB or other).
• Experience with ETL tools and reporting/analytics tools such as SSIS, SSRS, ETL Frameworks, Spark, and AWS data builds.
• Expertise in data modeling, data governance, and data quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Expertise in Machine Learning and deep learning frameworks.
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
