Responsibilities
A Data Engineer at Ecolab is expected to possess a problem-solving mindset with the capability to understand business challenges and apply analytics expertise to solve them. Key responsibilities include:
- Building compelling, clear, and powerful visualizations of data.
- Designing, architecting, and implementing Azure Data Factory V2 Pipelines.
- Utilizing Team Foundation Server / GIT as part of ADF Implementation.
- Handling migration projects such as moving/implementing code from other ETL tools to ADF.
- Developing solutions to implement error logging and alerting mechanisms using various available Azure services.
- Collaborating effectively within a diverse team.
- Communicating key insights and findings with clarity and efficiency.
- Creating, maintaining, and documenting a robust set of metrics for monitoring day-to-day bug detection and long-term performance tracking and tuning.
- Applying best practices, standards, and guidelines to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Managing the software lifecycle including environment setup, design, coding, testing, repository management, and deployments.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate for our Data Engineer role will have:
- Minimum 4-7 years of development experience in ADF.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in T-SQL, creating complex stored procedures, triggers, etc.
- Extensive use of Azure DevOps as part of projects.
- Experience with SQL Database, Azure SQL Database, Azure Datawarehouse, Salesforce connectors, Snowflake connectors, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions for not less than 3 years.
- 4+ years of professional experience in a Data Engineer/analyst role or similar.
- Knowledge in creating Power BI Reports & Dashboards [Optional].
- Experience with Service Bus and Event Hub.
Preferred Qualifications
Additionally, the following qualifications will be advantageous:
- Experience working on Data Migration/Code implementation from other ETL tools using ADF.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, SSIS packages, managed identity, service principles, and other deployment activities.
- Experience with building CI/CD pipelines in data environments and different patterns of deployment activities.
- Experience with Azure Analysis Service with intermediate expertise in writing DAX.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and Kusto DB.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Shell, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and other Azure stack modules like Azure Data Lakes, SQL, Data warehouse, SF connectors, etc.
- Excellent communication, organizational transformation, and leadership skills.
