WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is in search of a meticulous and dedicated data analyst to join our survey data management team. This person will primarily lend support to a variety of surveys for government and other clients. Tasks encompass cleaning and re-coding sample frames to furnish all required data elements for sampling and weighting; providing pristine respondent lists for mail file generation; writing syntax for systematic response data processing; observing internal and external requirements for secure file storage; managing PII and data destruction; testing data collection tools; and delivering the final re-coded data files used for weighting, analysis, and reporting. This role is particularly suited for an individual who has experience with complex survey branching, pays attention to detail, and possesses some coding/syntax skills in statistical analysis packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal analysis teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of the data requirements necessary for sampling, weighting, and analyzing of data.
  • Assist other analysts in creating, cleaning, and recoding datasets and sample frames for research studies.
  • Develop and execute systematic data collection instrument testing plans to ensure alignment with instruments and specifications.
  • Maintain the integrity and compliance of data and metadata with required standards by performing data validation and cleansing. Identify issues within data and discern the root cause of the problem to suggest and implement rectification measures.
  • Assess survey data to evaluate questions and data quality.
  • Identify improvements in the process related to data collection and processing.
  • Review and evaluate data collection metrics.
  • Ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient completion of all final deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, social science, public policy, or a related field.
  • 0-1 year of professional experience working with large datasets or databases. Experience acquired through academic projects or internships are acceptable. Professional working environment preferred.
  • Experience in writing syntax in SPSS or Stata.
  • Additional programming skills such as SAS, R, or SQL are desirable.
  • Excellent quantitative skills and a considerable attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking and managing several priorities with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidates may be subject to a low-level government security assessment and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.

Salary: $52,000 - $60,000

Location: Remote, open to United States residents only.
