Job Description & Responsibilities

The Data Manager will spearhead the development of a project central tag database, creating an accurate and reliable master tag register during FEED. The role also involves managing class libraries during the EPC phase, setting standards for contractors and their supply chains. This position calls for an in-depth understanding of data types and formats used in Refining, Chemical, or similar projects, ensuring compliance with contractual standards to maintain robust data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement best practices for master data management.
  • Maintain reference class libraries using Aveva’s Information Standards Manager (ISM) to support project standards and expand them during the EPC phase.
  • Develop and implement a Data Management Procedure, including tag asset naming and numbering conventions.
  • Establish a central tag database in Aveva Engineering during FEED and populate it using project registers.
  • Set standards for suppliers and EPC contractors to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as CFIHOS, ISO 15926, and ISO 14224.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and fulfill data requirements.
  • Audit and verify project information standards to minimize errors and delays.
  • Manage data governance to ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms.
  • Provide support and training on Aveva’s ISM and related processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in Data Governance/Data Management.
  • Proven experience with Aveva’s Information Standards Manager (ISM) during FEED and EPC phases.
  • Experience working with Saudi Aramco or other Middle Eastern clients is a plus.
  • Experience using data standards for Digital Project Execution and Digital Twin development.
  • Configuration of Aveva AIM (Asset Information Manager) for Building Digital Twins.
  • Familiarity with FEED and EPC project execution lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations phases.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
