What your role will entails: The Head of Data will provide direct reports to the company's Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As an essential member of the technology leadership team, you will work closely with the company's directors to align data projects with the overall technology vision and strategy of the company. We are in search of an experienced and dynamic Head of Data to become part of our team. As the Head of Data, you will supervise the work of data scientists and data analysts daily, ensure that they integrate efficiently within varied squads, and enable them to track and interpret the impact of their work on the company's objectives. You will work in close cooperation with squad leaders, product managers, and additional key stakeholders to ensure data-driven insights are effectively used to make decisions and achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Team Management: - Lead and supervise a group of data scientists and data analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. - Encourage a team culture that aligns with the Satispay pillars. - Create and implement strategies for talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, and professional development within the data team. Integration with Cross-Functional Squads: - Ensure efficient and effective communication and collaboration among data team members within the squads. - Ensure the integration of data team members into the squad has a positive impact on the product. - Collaborate closely with squad leaders to identify data needs, prioritize projects, and align data initiatives with squad objectives. Impact Tracking and Reporting: - Establish and maintain robust systems for tracking and reporting the impact of data-driven projects. - Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of data initiatives and their contribution to business results. - Regularly communicate insights and findings to relevant stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making at all organizational levels. Data Strategy and Governance: - Develop and carry out a comprehensive data strategy, aligning it with the company's overall strategic objectives. - Work with the technology and infrastructure teams to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and security of data and analytics infrastructure. - Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices. Stakeholder Collaboration: - Cooperate with product managers, marketing teams, and other key stakeholders to identify data-driven opportunities and challenges. - Provide strategic guidance and support to stakeholders in leveraging data insights to drive business growth and innovation. - Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing data-driven insights and advice to inform strategic decision-making. What we are looking for: We are seeking talented individuals who are willing to share our enthusiasm and passion for the Satispay project. You should have: - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred. - Significant experience (8+ years) managing and leading data teams, preferably in a scale-up or fast-paced environment. - Strong technical expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL. - Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles. - Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations. - Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional squads is desirable. You are: - Fluent in English, both spoken and written. - An excellent communicator who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. - An experienced leader who can inspire teams and make decisive choices. - A strategic thinker who aligns tasks with broader company objectives. - A relationship builder with the ability to nurture positive ties with team and staff. Knowledge of Italian or other European languages is considered a plus. Logistics & Salary The role is based in Milan with a hybrid work policy.
