Your Role

The Data Manager (DM) will report directly to the Director of Quality Assurance. The DM will provide support and guidance for business pursuits and projects, adhering to relevant Requests for Proposal, contracts, and our Quality Policy. As the curator of information, the DM will maintain the integrity of documents and records.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance and Stewardship

  • Manage data as a vital asset, implementing policies, procedures, metrics, and tools for effective data management.
  • Standardize and utilize data and content management repositories, aligning with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Address gaps in policy compliance, engaging stakeholders to find solutions.
  • Establish communication flows with internal and external entities.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to provide actionable information.

Data Modeling, Design, and Interoperability

  • Align data and metadata needs with enterprise policies, accommodating data storage requirements and leveraging integration opportunities.
  • Plan and document information management activities in collaboration with program leaders.
  • Author Data Management Plans and contribute to other project management documents.

Data Integrity Management

  • Ensure the availability and security of data repositories, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement data quality controls and security measures for document types and records.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.

Content Management and Decision Support

  • Manage data lifecycle activities and interface with stakeholders.
  • Administer document retention and management tools, providing instruction to end users.
  • Coordinate change requests and produce change activity reports.
  • Strive to minimize change cycle time and facilitate timely decision-making.

Requirements

  • Formal education in library and/or information studies preferred. A diploma with additional experience is acceptable.
  • Experience with certified quality management systems and environments requiring security clearance is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Agile PLM and FileHold systems is beneficial.
  • Willingness to pursue formal certification, such as CMII via IpX Institute.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience:
    • Working within defined configuration item hierarchies.
    • Handling various documentation types and records administration.
  • Proven organizational skills to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team while maintaining individual accountability.
  • Ability to prompt others in a respectful yet effective manner.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $50,000 - $72,000 annually, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
