Job Description: VP Data Modeling

The VP Data Modeling role at BlackRock involves developing, implementing, and maintaining physical data models to support Aladdin Data strategy within the financial services domain. Key responsibilities include:

• Communicating and advocating the value of Aladdin Data efforts in ontologies and standardization.
• Prioritizing the roadmap for data model design and implementation.
• Implementing data strategies and designing physical data models.
• Evaluating and optimizing existing data systems.
• Building conceptual/logical data models and working with data engineers for implementation.
• Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency.
• Reviewing and modifying existing systems for cross-compatibility.
• Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in physical and relational data/semantic modeling.
• Expertise in financial services.
• Knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
• Mathematical foundations and statistical analysis knowledge.
• Experience with Snowflake is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced troubleshooting abilities.

Compensation for New York City Residents:

The salary range for this position is $157,500 - $214,500, supplemented by an annual discretionary bonus. Employees also receive comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement plans. BlackRock follows a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, meaning total compensation may vary based on multiple performance factors.
