About the Role

iCapital is seeking an experienced Data Operations Specialist to join our team in developing our Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) platform. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in finance data operations, specifically within the alternative investments sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of client API integrations within our DLT application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with third-party administrators and/or transfer agents for timely completion of quarterly valuations, accurate general ledger entries, and investment valuations based on fair value market principles.
  • Monitor and address data issues related to client API integrations, system failures, processing times, and data validations. Design and implement workflow processes to mitigate these issues.
  • Review fund expenses and accruals against annual budgets to identify discrepancies and recommend adjustments. Reconcile accounting data between iCapital DLT and third-party administrators.
  • Resolve client escalations related to data quality by identifying root causes, implementing corrective measures, and effectively communicating resolutions to clients and internal teams.
  • Review and approve quarterly management fee and trailer calculations, and investor capital account statements in compliance with partnership operating agreements.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and implement updates for smart contract rules and data workflows. Manage relationships with fund managers and handle ad hoc requests.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external data and operations teams, understand user needs, and gather feedback to make strategic decisions about data operations and DLT applications.
  • Oversee and coordinate the fund’s annual audit process, manage relationships with external auditors, and review the preparation of annual fund financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in alternative investment data operations (e.g., Fund Finance, Corporate Finance).
  • Thorough understanding of alternative investment fund and investment lifecycle activities, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Expertise in Excel including advanced functions, formulas, and macros.
  • Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write and troubleshoot queries.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, maintaining high standards of data accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing data monitoring processes and troubleshooting data issues.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to work independently.

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $180,000. iCapital offers a comprehensive compensation package including salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
