M&T Bank is hiring a Data Architecture Lead who will design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based data architecture, with a special focus on Snowflake. This role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing flexibility to work remotely two days a week while providing opportunities for in-person collaboration.

Data Architecture
Our team collaborates closely with business stakeholders across various domains to build data products supporting Analytical and Operational Reporting, Data Visualization, Dashboards, and Advanced Analytics. About the Role
The Data Architect Lead will coordinate and lead a team of Data Architects and Data Modelers, developing data models and solutions to build scalable data products. Responsibilities include:
Data Architecture
- Managing and developing enterprise data roadmaps and architecture patterns.
- Implementing data modeling best practices to ensure scalability and performance.
- Developing and documenting data architecture, data flows, and data models for various audiences.
- Reviewing data model designs for interoperability and analytics enhancements.
- Providing consulting support for data architecture alignment with enterprise goals.
Modeling
- Maintaining logical and physical data models with accurate metadata.
- Creating data flows and supporting development projects with data modeling.
- Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.
Leadership
- Collaborating with technology and business leaders on strategic data management.
- Developing strong relationships with data product consumers.
- Leading a center of excellence for data architecture best practices.
- Communicating business value of data designs to stakeholders.
Cloud
- Designing and developing cloud-based data architecture solutions using Snowflake.
- Leading implementation of Snowflake-based data solutions, including data modeling and integration pipelines.
- Optimizing data storage, retrieval, and query performance in Snowflake.
Data Support
- Providing data access and resources to support consumers.
- Creating data models, ontologies, and taxonomies for consistency across the enterprise.
- Establishing data access management approaches and participating in governance activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years’ related experience, or in lieu of a degree, 11 years’ combined education and work experience.
- Full-cycle product development experience within an Agile framework.
- Experience working with data products, SQL, and data analytic tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of data architecture and modeling with ERWIN or similar tools.
- BFSI industry experience with knowledge of Azure, Snowflake, Informatica,
