About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Data Quality Engineer. We are on the lookout for skilled individuals who specialize in data quality to help us create procedures that enhance the accuracy and integrity of our organization's data.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
As a Data Quality Engineer, you will:
- Analyze and monitor data input quality.
- Examine complex data and collaborate with engineering groups.
- Develop techniques and workflows for testing and reporting findings.
- Set service level standards for data quality.
- Manage the lifecycle of data reliability, including identifying, resolving, and preventing issues.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement an enterprise-wide Data Quality (DQ) strategy with business and technology teams.
- Conduct data quality analysis, resolve issues, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Evaluate system performance and design in relation to data quality.
- Collaborate with data engineers to improve data collection and storage processes.
- Develop and implement data quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Cleanse and enrich data sets, including handling duplicates, standardization, and augmentation.
- Perform queries to identify dirty data, orphaned data, coding issues, and data exceptions.
- Report high-level data analysis findings to management.
- Document processes and maintain data records.
- Continuously improve data quality processes and strategies.
- Maintain data quality testing libraries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, information management, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in data quality assurance, data analysis, or related roles.
- Proficiency in Java and/or C# programming languages.
- Expertise in data manipulation techniques, especially querying tables with MS SQL.
- Experience with various database technologies (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and methodologies (Relational, NoSQL/XML/JSON).
- Extensive experience with MS Excel, Power Query, and VBScript.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Tableau and Power BI for data exploration (optional).
- Knowledge of ETL tools (optional).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits (US Applicants Only)
The anticipated base salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $130,000, depending on geographic location, experience level, skill set, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.
