Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Data Science Engineer within Azure Networking, you will:

  • Design and develop distributed cloud-scale data pipelines and software services engineered for scale, availability, high performance, and high reliability.
  • Own and deliver complete features, including design, architecture, implementation, testability, debugging, and shipping.
  • Collaborate with internal partner teams and external customer teams to drive key platform insights and support new capabilities.
  • Advocate for best practices in data engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.
  • Required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Azure services and administration.
  • Experience with Data Networking and large-scale ethernet networks.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming/scripting languages, such as Python, C++/C#, Java, and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and big data systems like Kusto, Spark, Scala.
  • Experience in data engineering or software engineering roles with a focus on cloud-based big data processing.
  • Developing tools and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Apache Spark, or similar tools.

Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. In specific locations like the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
