What You Will Do

Let's change the world together. In this critical role, you will support our Center for Design and Analysis (CfDA) Data Science team's mission. This involves providing advanced analytics to inform scientific and operational designs of Amgen's clinical trials, as well as unlocking new insights from clinical trial patient data.

• Collaborate with data scientists to analyze and select appropriate data models and algorithms to improve clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas using diverse data.
• Design, write, and test data/ML pipelines and other advanced analytic/visualization solutions.
• Work with public APIs for interacting with LLMs (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, GPT, Anthropic).
• Engineer LLM pipelines.
• Collect business requirements/user stories for new or enhanced analytic solutions.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Train users in the solutions provided by the CfDA Data Science organization.
• Lead process improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to Amgen Policies, SOPs, and other controlled documents.
• Participate in the development and review of CfDA Data Sciences Policies, SOPs, and other controlled documents.
• Engage in external professional organizations, conferences, and/or meetings.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 2 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience OR High school diploma/GED and 10 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or Data Scientist.
• Experience developing production-quality advanced analytic solutions.
• An understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
