Job Description Summary:
As a Data Science intern in PayPal’s Global Analytics & Data Science (GADS) organization, you will have an impact on PayPal’s products all around the world and you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to the world of data science. This internship is designed to provide a talented and aspiring data scientist with real-world challenges and projects to sharpen their skills while contributing to our data-driven initiatives.

Job Description:
Data Analysis and Visualization:
-Assist in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing.
-Visualize data to extract meaningful insights and patterns.
-Use tools like Python, R, or data visualization libraries to create reports and dashboards.
Model Development:
-Work closely with the data science team to build and fine-tune machine learning models.
-Participate in model evaluation and optimization.
-Contribute to the development of predictive and prescriptive models.
Research and Experimentation:
-Stay updated with the latest data science trends, techniques, and technologies.
-Conduct research on relevant algorithms and methodologies.
-Experiment with new approaches to solve data-related challenges.
Collaboration:
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business analysts.
-Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-Assist in communicating the value of data-driven solutions to decision-makers.
Documentation:
-Maintain clear and organized documentation of data sources, methods, and findings.
-Contribute to the development of best practices and guidelines for data science projects.
Qualifications:
-Currently pursuing a degree in Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
-Strong analytical. problem-solving skills, Excellent communication skills.
-Proficiency in data analysis and machine learning tools (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow).
-Basic understanding of data manipulation and visualization libraries
-Self-motivated, eager to learn, and a strong team player.
-Previous experience with data science projects, coursework, or internships is a plus.
Internship Program Information and Requirements:
-This is a Summer 2024 Internship program. Spring and Fall 2024 internships are not available.
-Must currently be pursuing Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university.
-Must be returning to school in the Fall of 2024.
-Must reside in the U.S. during the Summer internship program.
-Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S. for the summer.
