Data Scientist - Demand Forecasting

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Noodle’s Data Scientists construct sophisticated ML algorithms to address significant business challenges. We aim to utilize AI for beneficial purposes and generate a world free of waste. We predict the unpredictable upheaval that obliges businesses central to the global economy to produce waste in their manufacturing and supply chain processes, and strive to restore flow in business operations. This makes it vital to employ modeling techniques for intriguing data problems in dynamic processes and time-series modeling. WHAT YOU’LL DO KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Data Scientist at Noodle.ai, you will work alongside a diverse team of experts in fields such as supply chain planning, operations research, software engineering, MLOps, data visualization, and more to develop and deploy applications. You'll gain a deep understanding of the company's tech stack and then design, test, and implement machine learning algorithms to enhance it. As our company expands, you'll also create reusable IP to help us accelerate, delve deeper, and work more efficiently. You are captivated by the latest innovations in machine learning and are eager to push technological limits. Yet you are more than a technologist. You embody the "science" within data science and you find pleasure in navigating the ambiguities and uncertainties, thriving on exploration. Applying learning algorithms to new problems excites you and you ensure that you're posing the right queries. You have extensive experience in applying a range of modeling techniques and have a deep knowledge in predictive modeling and time-series forecasting. You possess an unquenchable curiosity, and are enthusiastic to learn not just about novel technologies, but also about business strategies. You are eager to tackle difficult problems with a team who will challenge you and you wish to contribute towards shaping the future of Enterprise AI. This role can be based in any major US metro area. ABOUT YOU QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: MUST HAVE: - Masters in a relevant field (Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Math…) or 2+ years of experience applying advanced AI techniques to real-world problems. - Implemented ML algorithms from the start. - Worked in a containerized environment (for instance, Docker). - Prior experience in putting ML models into operation. - Strong software (ML) engineering skills – optimization of code, testing/debugging code, managing exceptions, writing production-quality code. - A passion for learning and a drive to grow – Noodlers are lifelong learners! HELPFUL TO HAVE: - Experience with ML pipelines (KubeFlow Pipelines, DataBricks, Airflow). - ML expertise in time-series is strongly preferred. - Familiarity with software design patterns. - Expertise in consumer products supply chain operations. - Experience in supply chain planning (inventory or supply planning). - Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion that extends beyond your field of study – Are you a computer scientist who writes poetry?
