Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist/Engineer at Guidehouse, you will:

  • Query data using SQL and optimize SQL query performance for large datasets.
  • Utilize cloud-based databases including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Enhance data processing workflows.
  • Apply data modeling concepts and best practices.
  • Construct ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSMS, SSAS, SSRS), Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Transform data using Python.
  • Develop dashboards using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Gather requirements and present to clients.
  • Support remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the greater DC metro area.
  • Contribute to business development (e.g., RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses, white papers), internal initiatives, and professional development.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance or higher.
  • B.S. or B.A. in a quantitative, analytical, or computational discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or data engineering.
  • Proficiency in querying data using SQL and experience optimizing SQL query performance for large datasets.
  • Experience with cloud-based databases including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Skills in improving data processing workflows.
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration.
  • Proficiency in transforming data using Python.
  • Proficiency in developing dashboards using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to gather requirements and present to clients.
  • Ability to successfully operate in remote, hybrid, or on-site project environments in the greater DC metro area.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • M.S. or M.A. in a quantitative, analytical, or computational discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience supporting Federal Defense & Security organizations.
