About Your New Role

As a Data Scientist at BMS, you will utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to decode complex data sets and influence decision-making processes. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, developing predictive models, and delivering actionable insights that propel business performance and foster innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define project objectives in partnership with stakeholders, identifying key performance indicators for analysis.
• Handle, preprocess, and examine large-scale structured and unstructured data from several sources, including clinical trials and genetic information.
• Utilize statistical analysis and machine learning to develop models that enhance strategic decisions.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to spot trends and anomalies, proposing viable business solutions.
• Develop and implement complex predictive models with senior scientists to tackle business challenges.
• Ensure data quality and reliability in coordination with IT teams, supporting data analysis and modeling.
• Communicate analytical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and machine learning methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience in deploying data science solutions with tools like MLOps and Git.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib/Seaborn) for effective data presentation.
• Understanding of experimental design and A/B testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to address complex business challenges.
• Effective communication and presentation ability to convey intricate concepts succinctly.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and big data technologies is preferable.

Candidates should hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field and have up to 3 years experience, preferably in the biopharma or pharmaceutical sector.
