About the Role

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will work closely with our Data Scientists on various data analytics and AI use cases. Projects will include the analysis of large data sets to derive business or engineering insights, as well as prognostics and health monitoring in a manufacturing setting. You should be familiar with data workflows, including data discovery, ingestion, filtering, transformation, model creation, model deployment, and model maintenance. A strong understanding of big data technologies and platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) is expected. Proficiency in Python/R and knowledge of relevant math/statistics and machine learning techniques are required.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform and present data analysis based on customer requests.
  • Communicate with customers to define problem statements for Smart Manufacturing.
  • Develop solutions that can be compared to baseline solutions.
  • Create data pipelines in popular cloud platforms.
  • Test and evaluate developed solutions.
  • Present technical results and provide recommendations based on case studies.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a graduate student (Ph.D. preferred) in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering/science, or an equivalent engineering, math, or science discipline. Key qualifications include:

  • Strong programming experience in Python and/or R.
  • Familiarity with big data platforms.
  • Experience with big data technologies is preferred.

  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work creatively on complex engineering systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
