Job Title: Data Scientist Job Description: We are seeking a data scientist to assist in generating evidence on Philips' Image Guided Therapy (IGT) devices and therapies from extensive biomedical datasets, specifically healthcare claims and hospital administrative data. Your Challenge: This role involves close collaboration with our senior data scientist, data engineer, and members of cross-functional teams such as: data/solutions architecture, clinical affairs, business development, research & development, biostats, and health economics and outcomes research. This high-impact role will contribute directly to highly visible projects such as new product introductions, obtaining market access for a certain product, ongoing post-market surveillance, and pilots of emerging engineering technologies, which are potential candidates for integration into current workflows. Your role: 1. Analyze extensive biomedical datasets, specifically healthcare claims and hospital administrative data. 2. Work on improving our current codebases to (1) generate large-scale evidence from this data and (2) develop tools to make these data more accessible for less experienced data consumers or specialist teams. 3. Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations of new data science tools (e.g., generative AI) for integration into existing workflows. 4. Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical and business subject matter experts to translate their problems and business needs into executable analyses. You're the right fit if: - You have a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or PHD. - You have 2+ years of data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques, and reporting results). - You're fluent in Python and SQL programming or intermediate with a desire to improve. - You have experience with software engineering skills and best practices: design, development, testing, version control, pull requests, code review, etc. - You have experience in conducting observational, retrospective research preferably on healthcare claims, electronic health records, or hospital administrative datasets. - You have experience developing machine learning / AI algorithms. The actual base pay offered may vary based on several factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Other compensation, such stocks an annual bonus, sales commission, or long-term incentives, could be offered.
