About the Role

Join us as a Data Specialist in our Internal Audit (IA) team. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our Data Analytics capabilities to provide improved risk insights and assurance coverage. Working within multiple teams, you'll support the ANZ Group through our enterprise-wide vision and independence. Leveraging technology, data, and automation is essential for driving innovation and supporting ANZ Group functions.

This role may also extend to supporting Suncorp Bank, which will integrate into the ANZ Group upon the completion of our acquisition. This acquisition is subject to legislative amendments by the Queensland Parliament and approval by the Federal Treasurer, with an expected completion in mid-2024.

What Will Your Day Look Like?

As a Data Specialist, you will:

• Partner with audit teams to deliver assurance and consulting activities
• Implement continuous monitoring of key business risks and controls
• Create innovative Group-wide and Divisional dashboards
• Conduct targeted business data interrogation
• Embed a data-analytics-driven culture within Internal Audit

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across ANZ Group’s global team, leveraging your stakeholder management and influencing skills. Additionally, you will contribute to building data-analytics capability within the Internal Audit function.

What Skills Will You Bring?

We’re looking for candidates with:

• Technical expertise in data analytics, preferably in banking or consulting and across internal audit, risk, or similar fields
• Understanding of the analytics lifecycle, including exploratory data analysis, data modeling, data wrangling, data quality management, hypothesis testing, and data visualization
• Proficiency with tools like Qlik, Python, KNIME, and SQL
• Exposure to React, Big Data, or Machine Learning Techniques (e.g., GCP ML) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and quantitative analysis skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining stakeholder relationships
• Determination to achieve goals despite obstacles and uncertainties
• Qualifications in Data/Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields
