Are you ready to succeed as the Data Strategy and Enablement Senior Manager? In this pivotal role, you will lead teams dedicated to enhancing business capabilities through data and analytics. Collaborate with American Funds Service Company, Retirement Plan Services, Shared Services, and Analytical Teams to craft a data strategy that drives strategic business outcomes. Manage an execution roadmap to ensure data and insights are actionable, accessible, and trustworthy. Champion data management practices, enhance adoption rates, and deliver top-tier data capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Data Strategy & Product Management

Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligning with long-term and short-term business objectives. Work with senior leadership to identify opportunities for improving client experiences and fostering data-driven innovation. Lead the creation and maintenance of strategic data products and services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and prioritize feature development. Oversee the entire data product lifecycle from ideation to launch, including ongoing maintenance and enhancements.

Data Governance

Establish a holistic strategy for Data Governance, Education & Awareness, Risk Management & Audits, Data Quality Management, and Data Privacy. Work with Enterprise Data Governance teams to roll out frameworks that include policies, procedures, and standards for managing, securing, and using data globally. Identify, categorize, and document data assets to better understand data lineage and enhance trust in data for strategic decision-making. Implement data quality initiatives, establish stewardship programs, and educate leaders on the responsibilities of data owners and stewards.

People Leadership

Set and articulate leadership expectations that reflect Capital Group principles and values. Provide mentorship and guidance to the Data Strategy, Governance & Product Management Teams.

Qualifications

You bring thought leadership in discussions with business and technology leaders, shaping the vision for data-driven solutions that enable core business operations and processes. With deep knowledge of the data product lifecycle (acquisition, preparation, hypotheses, modeling, evaluation, deployment, operations, and optimization), you are well-prepared for this role. Your proven track record in leadership positions within complex and highly matrixed organizations demonstrates your capability as an adaptive problem solver.

Requirements include:

• 15 years of insights experience with at least 5 years leading a data and analytics team
• Experience within the Asset Management Industry is a plus
• Ability to influence at the C-suite level
• Experience developing and managing knowledge systems
• Expert-level written and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing a budget and external consultants and vendors

Compensation

Southern California Base Salary Range: $193,464-$328,889

San Antonio Base Salary Range: $174,229-$296,189

Indianapolis Base Salary Range: $177,287-$301,388

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, Capital’s annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings. Learn more about our .
