The Role: BI Data Engineer
We are seeking a skilled BI Data Engineer to collaborate with a diverse team of Developers, Data Scientists, and Database Administrators (DBAs). In this role, you will design, implement, and support advanced BI solutions across our entire organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architecture, implementation, and support of Ryanair applications using a variety of tools.
- Lead and participate in the requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of BI technology solutions.
- Perform ETL, Data Warehouse Modelling, OLAP processes, and BI solution delivery documentation.
- Recommend system functionality and process improvements within the BI environment.
- Work independently or as part of a team to deliver top-tier BI tools for a dynamic company.
- Embrace new technologies and initiatives to solve problems effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of data engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Spark, ideally using Databricks.
- Strong understanding of cluster configurations, Spark UI, and performance optimization.
- Extensive experience with Databricks in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Solid understanding of modern data architectures (data warehouse, data lake, data lake-house).
- Experience in data warehouse modeling and relational modeling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the data engineering lifecycle (ingestion, storage, transformation, serving).
- Experience serving data for BI applications, data scientists, and software engineers.
- ETL programming skills, handling large code bases and complex data structures.
- Experience with cloud solutions, particularly Azure. GCP & AWS are a plus.
