We are on the hunt for an accomplished and driven Deep Learning - Image Processing Engineer in Pessac (near Bordeaux, France)!

Eight years ago, SOPHiA GENETICS introduced the SOPHiA DDM platform. Currently, the solution allows for the integration and visualization of various data modalities, such as clinical, biological, genomic, or medical imaging data. Furthermore, it can process relevant multi-modal features and extract multi-modal insights using statistical learning. This may aid clinicians in understanding disease etiology, personalizing patient follow-up, or optimizing therapeutic decision making. It may also promote the discovery of clinical biomarkers or improve clinical trial performance by estimating heterogeneous treatment effects. As the product, data collection, customer base, and project multiplicity continue to grow, we face new challenges. The Deep Learning-Image Processing Engineer reports to the Manager Image processing R&D in the Multimodal R&D. The Deep Learning-Image Processing Engineer's objective is to participate in R&D projects, involving image processing, radiomics feature extraction, and statistical analysis, to meet the expectations of clinical and biopharma partners.


Responsibilities overview:

  • Development and implementation of Deep Learning models and algorithms to generate new radiomics features and to create new analysis capabilities in the SOPHiA platform that align with clinical and biopharma expectations,
  • Following up on the multimodal projects with the company partners,
  • Responding to requests from clinical partners for clinical research projects,
  • Participating in the validation processes in accordance with the company's quality requirements,
  • Staying updated on all the new developments related to radiomics and statistical analysis,
  • Ensuring the dissemination of the company's know-how.

Requirements

  • Engineer / Master's degree / PhD related to Image processing;
  • At least 2 years of industrial experience;
  • Medical data processing, knowledge of the DICOM format, basic knowledge about cancer and therapies;
  • Machine learning and Deep learning, MLOps capabilities;
  • Strong programming skills in Python;
  • The ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary research team, plus the drive and discipline to perform independent research;
  • Proficiency in English. Knowledge of French or any other language is a plus.

Location: Pessac, FR (Bordeaux area). Position is office-based, including 2 remote days per week / 3 days on-site.
