About the Role: Deep Learning Research Intern (Fall 2024)

Dessa, known for taking bold strides in AI within Block, is looking for a spirited Deep Learning Research Engineer Intern who is eager to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence. This fully remote internship will have you reporting directly to the Dessa AI Research Lead, where your efforts in designing and developing advanced AI systems could revolutionize how industries operate.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers to craft state-of-the-art generative AI models.
• Enhance existing AI frameworks by contributing innovative ideas and solutions.
• Develop software tools for data processing and analysis to support training of deep learning models.
• Stay updated and assimilate the latest advancements in deep learning technology.

Who You Are:

• Currently pursuing a technical degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related field, planning to graduate between May 2025 and May 2026.
• Deeply passionate about deep learning and artificial intelligence.
• Skilled in Python and familiar with data manipulation techniques.
• Knowledgeable in probability, statistics, and using open-source libraries for rapid prototyping.
• An innovative problem solver who thrives in dynamic, diverse teams.

Advanced understanding of neural network development using platforms like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow, particularly in training generative models like LLMs, will be considered a significant plus.
