Position Summary
As a DevOps QA Engineer at CVS Health, you will play a key role in testing infrastructure solutions and developing self-service automation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and infrastructure architects, to design, implement, test, and maintain automated workflows and processes.
Responsibilities
- Build automation to support best practices, policies, and guidelines for regulatory and security compliance.
- Monitor infrastructure usage, analyze trends, and provide automation to help optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency.
- Test and maintain self-service automation frameworks for easy and efficient resource provisioning.
- Create and maintain templates, blueprints, and scripts for provisioning infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing automation tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and agility.
- Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in automation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in information technology.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Python, Core Java, PowerShell, JavaScript, Node.js, Kubernetes, Docker, or any backend programming stack.
- 3+ years in deploying and testing infrastructure as code (IAC) technologies for microservice application infrastructure.
- 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines leveraging reusable code.
- 2+ years of experience developing backend applications.
- 5+ years of hands-on knowledge in DevOps, including test automation using tools like GitHub, ADOPS.
- 5+ years of application development and/or testing in Agile methodology.
- 5+ years experience using Linux and Windows environments.
- Strong SQL skills, proficiency in reading and understanding complex stored procedures, OLAP/analytical systems experience.
- 2+ years developing automation solutions using database technologies like SSMS, SSIS, ETL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to resolve dependencies and ensure transparency.
- Understanding of microservice patterns and concepts, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with governance frameworks, security controls, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Healthcare experience, especially using HL7 data and various EDI file formats, is a plus.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler services and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware).
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $83,430.00 - $206,000.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
