About the Role

We are looking for a highly-skilled Director of Data and Analytics to formulate and drive data strategies supporting Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams at Skydio. You will have a critical role in building and evolving our data architecture platforms while collaborating with leaders and vendors to deliver impactful Data and Analytics outcomes for our internal cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

As the Director of Data and Analytics, you will:

  • Translate business requirements into detailed data architectures, including data pipelines.
  • Define, design, test, and implement data solutions using both standard and custom-built third-party systems.
  • Lead data implementation projects and manage requirements documentation, data configuration, user acceptance testing, issue identification, and resolution.
  • Support mission-critical data systems including Fivetran, Databricks, and DBT.
  • Influence diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, to align on data strategies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data management, analytics, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Deep understanding of data analytics methodologies, including statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience in integrating data systems with Databricks and other data lakehouse systems.
  • Proven ability to design and implement complex data models and algorithms to solve business problems.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end data solutions through the entire SDLC, including workshops, design, build, test, deployment, UAT, and cutover.
  • Excellent understanding of data governance, data quality, and hardware product life cycles.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive personality and a proven track record of delivering responsibilities.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $185,000-236,000, based on factors such as skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible for benefit plans and various incentives and stipends.
