We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Machine Learning Engineer to join our team and report directly to the Director of ML Engineering.

About People.AI and the Role

As a leader in the Enterprise People Technology team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex Machine Learning and Generative AI systems. You will also architect enterprise-grade Machine Learning platforms, microservices, and pipelines. This role offers significant growth prospects and the chance to make a substantial impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced machine learning solutions to drive business results.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to enhance efficiency and realize their full potential.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for ML engineering, ensuring high standards for quality, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business, product, data science, front-end engineering, and data engineering teams to achieve business goals.
  • Communicate technical work effectively to senior and executive leaders in both technical and non-technical settings.
  • Stay current with the latest AI/ML technologies and trends, acting as a thought leader for ML Engineering within the organization and the broader technical community.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and 6 years of experience, or 8 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in computer science or a related field and 4 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.

Deep expertise in building large-scale, mission-critical machine learning applications using microservice architecture in Kubernetes is essential. Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA, and related frameworks and libraries is required. You should be highly resourceful, methodical in designing solutions/architecture/APIs/codebases, and able to translate product requirements into engineering blueprints. Experience with NLP models/applications and familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystems is a plus. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders are crucial.

Location and Salary Information

Positions available in Bellevue, Washington (Salary Range: $156,000.00-$312,000.00) and Bentonville, Arkansas (Salary Range: $130,000.00-$260,000.00). Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options.
