Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic team. This position is fundamental in supporting the full life-cycle of AWS Data Centers across multiple locations. With a focus on design, improvement, and maintenance, this role is crucial to ensuring operational excellence and the reliability of services that our customers depend on.

About the Role

In your capacity as an Electrical Field Engineer, you'll provide crucial engineering support throughout the entire lifecycle of our data centers—from inception and design through to enhancement and continuous maintenance. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for engineering insights within your designated region.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of equipment and site upgrades to enhance capacity, efficiency, and availability.
  • Review and approve equipment designs, ensuring compatibility and operational integrity.
  • Troubleshoot issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and generate Corrective Action (CA) documentation to mitigate future risks.
  • Support ongoing operations with ad-hoc training, review of complex procedures, and direct event assistance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including server hardware and environmental health, to standardize and improve data center services.
  • Engage in multiple projects simultaneously, often spanning various geographic regions.

Who Should Apply?

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mission-critical facilities, such as data centers or power generation plants.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for calculations and data processing.
  • Experience in construction, operation, and maintenance of critical facilities, with hands-on field experience highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of regional building codes and regulations.
