Job Description

We are recruiting a Data Steward – Analyst Level for our Enterprise Master data team in Delhi. We're in search of an experienced data professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and seeks to enhance data to deliver superior customer results.

This position will be part of the Enterprise Master Data Management (EMDM) group and will work specifically on the Reference Enterprise Master Data Set (Org EMDS). EMDM at Wood Mackenzie adheres to Gartner's definition of: ‘A consistent and uniform set of identifiers and attributes that describe the core entities (parties, places, things) of the enterprise and are used across multiple business processes.’ We focus on the entities within the data sets we source, refine and sell.

This role centers on building, enhancing, and maintaining the data which identifies or describes any organization/party in our Organisation EMDS (like companies, government entities, individuals, trade organizations, joint ventures, and so on). Our Master Data undergirds Wood Mackenzie’s unique understanding of the energy and natural resources sectors, enabling the creation of high confidence associations and roll ups across sectors. Data is the key driver behind Wood Mackenzie’s mission to transform the way the planet is powered. The successful candidate will be addressing challenges around master data management supporting a wide array of data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the data landscape, domain, and workflows for your business sector, customers and products
  • Offer specialized skills in data analysis, visualization, and data management, delivering new Analytics through connected datasets and integrated pipelines
  • Champion for quality, assume responsibility for data ownership and fulfill complex data requests punctually and to high standards
  • Identify, prioritize and document opportunities for efficiency, optimization, migration or improvement in our systems, processes and datasets
  • Work in an agile, cooperative manner to foster a culture of continuous improvement and incremental delivery, measuring success
  • Primary user of Data/GIS platform and ensures best practices are applied in utilizing or maintaining databases, tools, models and process solutions from data sourcing to client delivery
  • Cooperate with colleagues in Research, Data, Product and Engineering to deliver Data Assets while supporting junior colleagues

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Experience in data-related roles, demonstrating customer focus and understanding of core concepts around data ingestion, cleansing, and data quality
  • Strong skills in Relational and NoSQL Database systems, with the ability to query and analyze data using SQL or other techniques
  • Expert skills in a data visualization package (such as PowerBI)
  • Experience in identifying and applying technology solutions to address business problems using agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to mentor more junior colleagues and manage others' workloads
  • A keen interest and passion for learning new technologies or data skills like Python, understanding of AWS and APIs is an advantage

Pluses

  • Experience with MDM/Governance systems (such as Ataccama, Informatica, Talend, Tibco, Semarchy)
  • Prior experience working on Consolidation and Centralized MDM implementation style
  • A well-developed understanding of AWS and API’s is an advantage
  • Ability to work asynchronously with team members and stakeholders across multiple backgrounds, regions, and time zones
