Position Overview: Milliman is looking for an Entry-Level Temporary Data Analyst to join our Minneapolis Health and Life practice. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for personal growth and involvement in analytical projects related to health and long-term care insurance, employing advanced data processing and actuarial modeling techniques. The position is full-time (40 hours per week), lasting approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare analytical filings for long-term care rate adjustments.
  • Cleanse, combine, and analyze data using various software tools.
  • Conduct communication of analytical results to team members and leaders.
  • Perform peer-reviews, contribute to written reports, and handle both internal and external correspondence.
  • Document project stages and contribute to research and business development initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications:

  • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0, with a preference for 3.5 or higher.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare or health-related data.
  • Familiarity with databases and programming languages such as SAS, Python, or R.
  • Cloud computing knowledge.

Location and Compensation
