Job Description:

The ESG Data Analyst plays a vital role in the Living Progress team, which ensures that HPE’s environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) reputation aligns with our customers' and investors' expectations. This role involves critical analysis of HPE’s environmental performance, helping the company meet crucial environmental targets, such as achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.

As an ESG Data Analyst, you will collaborate with various HPE departments, including business groups, operations, sales, and global real estate, to track sustainability performance metrics and accurately communicate HPE’s ESG performance to stakeholders. Attention to detail and a passion for impactful work are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and execute projects aligned with HPE’s climate and environmental strategy.
  • Calculate, analyze, interpret, and improve HPE’s environmental data (GHG emissions, waste, water, and energy).
  • Assist in developing HPE’s Climate Transition Plan using the best data available.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to document and enhance company-wide data management practices.
  • Identify opportunities for data quality improvements, automation, auditability, and overall integrity.
  • Work closely with the ESG Reporting team to ensure timely and accurate ESG data disclosures.
  • Support business intelligence, team operations, and ad hoc data analysis projects as needed.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Relevant degree in environmental engineering, statistics, data science, or related field with at least three years of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and analyzing large datasets using tools like Excel, Access, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience developing new databases and systems for data tracking and analysis.
  • Proficiency in complex problem solving and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with process improvement and management.
  • Knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, corporate GHG accounting, energy efficiency, and product carbon footprints is a plus.
