Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Data Scientist to develop and deliver core data science and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in statistics, AI, and ML, along with domain knowledge in Aircraft Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, or Manufacturing. This role requires strong programming skills in Python or Java and a minimum of 5 years of experience in image processing and computer vision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate business objectives, stakeholder needs, and identify requirements.
• Interface with senior leaders to architect and lead advanced analytics solutions.
• Provide mentoring and technical leadership within the data science community at Boeing.
• Engage stakeholders to identify and implement enterprise-wide applications.
• Assess and deploy cutting-edge AI and ML models, validating business outcomes.

ML/AI Models Development

• Analyze complex data sets using machine learning, advanced statistical analysis, text analysis, and more.
• Follow best practices for model validation and refinement as per business requirements.
• Develop and sustain analytics solutions, ensuring business objectives are met.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in computer vision and image processing.
• 10+ years of total work experience post Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years post Master’s degree, or 6+ post Ph.D.
• Hands-on experience with various machine learning methods and open-source libraries (e.g., SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile and product-oriented development.
• Proficiency in cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong technical skills in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Scala.
• Knowledge of statistical software and database languages (R, MATLAB, SQL).
• Familiarity with DevOps for Data Science.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in relevant fields like computer science, statistics, or related engineering disciplines.

Typical Education & Experience

A Bachelor's or Master’s degree with 8-12 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
