We currently have an opening for an Expert in AI/NLP/ML who is fluent in English to offer his/her services as an expert based in Luxembourg. The work will be performed either on the company’s premises or at the customer's site. During the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated and work closely with a major client’s IT team, on-site. Your tasks: - Design, implementation, and evaluation of AI-based NLP applications, including but not limited to machine translation (MT) engines and defining quality evaluation criteria applicable to the datasets used for building NLP applications, both the training and testing data sets. - Organization and execution of large-scale MT engine training for multiple language pairs, process automation, efficient resource utilization, inspection of engine building progress, and debugging. - Application of advanced data analysis and machine learning techniques, such as "deep learning" based on neural models, to MT-related tasks such as domain adaptation, as well as the acquisition and data management for building improved pre- and post-processing tools. - Development and maintenance of methods and software to identify useful subsets of existing corpora, filtering out unwanted parts, using combinations of machine learning approaches with explicit (symbolic) rules. - Acquisition and management of data sources that can enhance MT performance and quality, consultation on MT quality improvements, evaluating the impact of changes to the MT engines on output quality and other performance criteria. - Contribution to and analysis of custom implementations, such as the creation of domain-specific MT engines or specific algorithms and assessing benefits and risks of changes concerning the overall quality of the eTranslation service. - Participation in scientific conferences and workshops related to Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation, and underlying technologies. Requirements: - Master’s degree in IT, combined with a minimum of 9 years professional experience. - Experience in the area of natural language processing including neural machine translation. - Exceptional knowledge of setting up and evaluating MT software, including testing methodologies and tools such as automatic quality metrics. - Extensive knowledge and experience with programming languages used for text processing, such as Python. - Ability to quickly implement prototypical solutions and evaluate them on vast amounts of textual data. - Familiarity with ML toolkits such as Marian will be an advantage. - Excellent command of English.
