Your data adventure starts here. Reshaping the future of Makro Wholesale! As the Business Intelligence Expert, you will act as a quartermaster for the broad 'Data' function, collaborating across departments to shape a cohesive and efficient data landscape for Makro.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Function Development:

• Define and establish the "data function" for Makro Netherlands.
• Provide input for technical designs and test cases.
• Act as local third-line support and liaise with Metro Digital and IT suppliers.

Strategic Advisory and Project Management:

• Act as a trusted advisor, supporting strategic goals through data insights.
• Contribute to the development of a data capability roadmap.
• Manage large-scale projects with a predominant data component, ensuring effective project management and support your colleagues with data knowledge in their projects.

Data Analysis, Design, and Testing:

• Analyze data flows and design effective data models for decision-making.
• Translate analyses into designs using Metro corporate building blocks.
• Set up and execute data test plans, ensuring rigorous testing protocols.
• Close the feedback loop and adjust the realised dashboards and reports.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proactive approach to staying updated with technology trends and translating them into opportunities for the organization.
• Proficiency in Google Cloud services, Google Big Query, Airflow, SQL, JSON, XML, CSV, Dockers, Kubernetes, Python, PHP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong logical data modelling skills and experience with test management focused on data testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, including budget management, governance, and risk assessment.
• Ability to analyse complex data flows and design effective data models for decision-making.
