Summary In this role, you will be paired with a Vizient executive as a mentor during this year-long program. You will work on data science projects across the healthcare domains of clinical & operations, supply chain, pharmacy, and healthcare strategy with data scientists, curating projects that align with your interests and goals. You will enhance your skills in operations, improve products, and generate new insights. Responsibilities - Collaborate with internal data science teams on assigned projects. - Develop data science models, including machine learning, to improve understanding and predict health care outcomes, perform data management, and other designated tasks. - Work together with internal Vizient staff and leaders, as well as external stakeholders including Vizient clients, vendors, and third parties. - Conduct independent research on healthcare data topics. - Participate in client meetings and 'voice-of-customer' tasks to understand Vizient's business needs. - You have the option to participate in rotations and complete a capstone project during the Fellowship. - Organize a monthly Speaker Seminar Series with your co-fellow. Qualifications Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree in data science, statistics, medical or health informatics, or a related field. There is no requirement for previous work experience. Demonstrated technical skills, including strong proficiency with SQL database design, and programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS are required. Quantitative skills such as Bayesian inference, data analysis application of mathematics, and machine learning model development are required. Graduate course and project work, or substantial experience in healthcare data or a technical field is preferred. Experience with healthcare data, such as electronic health or medical records (EHR/EMR) data, and healthcare data standards are preferred, as are strong communication and project management skills.
