The ideal candidate will be passionate about advancing the scientific understanding of intelligence and technology to achieve cutting-edge machine intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pioneering research to enhance intelligent machine technologies.
- Conduct studies to understand the semantics of data from various modalities (images, video, text, audio, etc.).
- Target long-term research objectives while also hitting immediate milestones.
- Influence the progress within relevant research communities by publishing high-impact research.
- Produce high-quality open-source code and ensure the reproducibility of research.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or holding a PhD degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed before joining Meta.
- A robust research background in areas such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.
- A proven track record of theoretical or empirical research, demonstrated through published research.
- Proficiency in development and debugging using Python or similar programming languages.
- Experience in data analysis and collection from diverse sources.
- Work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and ongoing authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Substantial research and engineering experience evidenced by grants, fellowships, patents, internships, work experience, or coding competitions.
- First-authored publications presented at peer-reviewed conferences like ICML, NeuRIPS, ACL, EMNLP, ICLR, FacCT, CCS, or IEEE S&P.
- Expertise in solving complex problems, analyzing tradeoffs, and considering diverse perspectives.
- Experience working in collaborative research environments.
- Excellent skills in communicating research to a public audience of peers.
