Join Goldman Sachs: Analyst - Loan Management & Due Diligence

At Goldman Sachs, we are looking for a motivated Analyst to join our Global Banking & Markets team in Dallas. The ideal candidate will play a key role in our US Residential Mortgage Trading Business, leveraging their data management and analytics skills while collaborating with our team to drive strategic reporting and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data management, process uplifts, and strategic reporting for the US Residential Mortgage Trading Business.
  • Collaborate with teammates in our Bangalore-based Data Analytics (DA) team on projects and strategic tasks.
  • Implement quality control, data validation, and cleansing processes for both new and existing data sources.
  • Identify and eliminate redundancies, reduce manual interventions, and enhance process efficiency through automation.
  • Execute and improve data quality controls on monthly mortgage data from loan servicers.
  • Engage with stakeholders across Loan Management to define and implement reporting and automation requirements.
  • Work closely with global and regional teams to develop and maintain advanced reporting solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into high-quality, on-time deliverables.
  • Manage project timelines and completions for analytics, automation, and reporting deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to define and drive enhancements to Engineering systems.
  • Manage data dictionaries and large data stores.
  • Create data quality control checks for internal databases and resolve issues through analytic research.
  • Fulfill ad hoc data requests.

Basic Qualifications

  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and confident.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid analytical and logical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Experience in data analysis, data modeling, structured/relational databases, or ETL processes.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and interaction with structured data.
  • Advanced Excel skills or ability to learn them.
  • Strong academic background with a 4-year degree in engineering, analytics, finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with data transformation and reporting tools like Tableau and Alteryx, or the ability to build reports and data visualizations.
  • Expertise in structured data management and governance, data transformation processes, and efficient data modeling principles.
  • Experience in mortgage banking or the financial industry.
  • Understanding of structured finance, collateralized lending, fixed income, or related financial modeling concepts.
