Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in a hardware engineering technical environment, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action documentation.
  • Strong background in data analytics and reliability analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, JMP, and Weibull++.
  • Experience in data modeling, including regression, machine learning, and familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs).

In this role, you will support Google’s efforts to build and ship safe, reliable consumer products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product excellence across our diverse portfolio. You will quantify the business impact of engineering decisions and identify improvements for future product generations. A key focus area for this role includes data and field failure analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate and interpret product datasets to identify and motivate areas for enhancement.
  • Leverage available data sources to uncover root causes of systemic issues, referring to cross-product and generational information.
  • Recommend and drive corrective actions to improve future product iterations.
  • Develop scripts, tools, and processes to automate and accelerate future workstreams.

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salaries are determined by several factors, including role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
