About This Role

As the Director of Data Management & Analytics Services, you will direct and oversee the design and development of systems used for managing data. This includes data warehouses, data stores, and other business intelligence systems. You will be responsible for working across IT (and some business units) to identify, catalog, govern and provide all data points that are valuable to the Biogen organization. You will also be responsible for the enterprise Data Warehouse, BI & analytics toolsets, complex dashboard development, data science, data governance, data virtualization and other data related disciplines. You will lead data architects and engineers in architecting and delivering solutions that are fit-for-purpose. The position involves providing advice, guidance, and direction on all data related aspects to the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a large team of data architects and engineers to oversee the Data platforms
• Build strategy and roadmap for Biogen business units, including R&D, Manufacturing Operations, Compliance, Commercial, etc.
• Reduce the time and cost to market for data availability
• Streamline data management tools to improve operations
• Architect and deliver solutions for all functional IT group's data needs
• Manage budgets and handle the Annual Operating Plan & forecast for the data domain
• Develop the platform strategy for the data domain that provides maximum benefit to Biogen
• Champion and lead Data Science initiatives
• Actively contribute to organization strategy efforts as part of the Extended Leadership Team

You are a strategic leader who will define data strategy in collaboration with business and IT to build a data-driven culture within Biogen from the ground up. You are a business-driven technologist seeking to solve business problems using data technology.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in a large enterprise within the pharma/biotech industry is a must
• 12+ years of experience in the data domain with experience in Data Warehousing, BI & Analytics tools necessary
• Significant team leadership and management experience
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with Computer Related advanced technical degrees
