Job Overview

Sentara Health is looking for a Healthcare Data Analyst to join our Health Plan Medical Economics team. This position plays a crucial role in providing data analysis support, developing reports and dashboards to monitor program and operational performance. As a Healthcare Data Analyst, you will promote self-service analytics to drive customer understanding and data utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining both simple and complex reports.
  • Analyzing data, providing solutions, and effectively communicating insights to business owners.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of programmatic analyses and reporting capabilities.
  • Performing ad-hoc analysis as directed to maintain data accuracy and identify new metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Medicaid/Medicare support role.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare claims analytics, data modeling, and various coding methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Moderate experience with SQL, data warehousing, and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical analytics or medical management support.
  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare provider contracting.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Advanced Tableau/Power BI skills, including Python, Java, and API development.
