DevSecOps Engineer Role and Responsibilities
As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will integrate security practices across our development and deployment pipelines, ensuring the security, scalability, and resilience of our products. This position demands both strategic insight and hands-on engineering skills to develop top-tier DevSecOps processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain highly automated CI/CD pipelines, secure infrastructure, and provide rapid response to security incidents.
- Design & Implement CI/CD Pipelines: Develop, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scans, and code deployment for reliable software releases.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement IaC using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for consistent and scalable environments.
- Security Automation: Embed security automation in CI/CD pipelines, incorporating vulnerability management, code analysis, and dependency checks.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage secure, scalable cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), optimizing performance, availability, and cost.
- Monitoring and Logging: Implement advanced monitoring systems to detect and respond to security threats and performance anomalies.
- Incident Response and Threat Management: Develop and execute incident response plans, ensuring effective detection, response, and recovery from breaches.
- Disaster Recovery and Resilience: Create robust disaster recovery strategies with reliable backup and restoration processes.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure systems meet regulatory standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR) and manage audits with proper documentation.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
- 5+ years experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
- 5+ years experience in managing and securing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), focusing on automation and high availability.
- Expertise in vulnerability management, threat modeling, and security monitoring within CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience implementing monitoring solutions and leading incident response teams.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001) and managing related audits.
