Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and analytical information management solutions using software and databases for both domestic and international projects.
- Function as an IS/GIS Specialist, performing moderate to highly complex tasks such as data administration, creation, data integrations, analysis, reporting, mapping, and application development.
- Conduct risk/vulnerability assessments for various plans, including hazard mitigation, resilience, and climate adaptation.
- Support plan development by presenting risk assessment results in tables and charts, creating maps, and writing risk assessment methodology descriptions.
- Perform QA/QC of risk/vulnerability assessments conducted by other BV staff and project subcontractors.
- Identify and evaluate risk/vulnerability assessment tools, methodologies, and data sources.
- Provide Hazus and GIS analysis support for benefit-cost analyses (BCA).
- Ensure data accuracy based on quality assurance and quality control guidelines and maintain project compliance requirements.
- Develop and lead GIS-based tools, applications, databases, or similar solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Esri’s suite of applications including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise (Server), Collector, FieldMaps, Survey123, Operations Dashboard, Story Maps, and more.
- Willingness to learn new software such as cloud (MS Azure, AWS, ArcGIS Online), mobile, analytics, business intelligence, AI/ML, visualization, and data blending applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerBI, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiarity with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Arcade, SQL, JavaScript, C++, Visual Basic.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Physical, Earth, Life Science, Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited university, or equivalent job-related experience.
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in information analysis environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using FEMA’s Hazus software.
Additional Qualifications
- Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro, Esri Experience Builder, and Python.
- Technical writing ability.
- Familiarity with FME ETL tools or similar.
- Exposure to engineering-related concepts such as hazard mitigation planning, resiliency, water distribution, or wastewater systems.
- Familiarity with relational databases and asset hierarchies.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically, a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience is required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
